In addition to a variety of theatres, galleries and museums, Harrogate is also home to The Great Yorkshire Show, an annual event that takes place over a weekend in mid-July. The show sees farmers, crafters and independent businesses from all over Yorkshire to sell their wares - perfect for picking up fresh produce or handmade gifts. 

The Harrogate food and drink scene is perhaps best known for the quintessentially British experience of indulging in afternoon tea at the city's world famous Betty's tearoom, but there's so much more to Harrogate than just Betty's. According to Visit Harrogate, the restaurants in the area draw inspiration from across the globe – with Mediterranean, Mexican, Vietnamese, and even Nordic-inspired dishes to be found.

Like York, Harrogate boasts a relatively central location within Yorkshire. This means it is prefectly places for easy access to The North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales, The Peak District and even The Lake District. Traditional British seaside towns and beautiful coastline is just a hop, skip and a jump away and vibrant cities like Leeds and Bradford and on the doorstep too. In otherwords, there is lots and lots to explore.
