Why A Four Bedroom Home Could Be Right For You

Four-bedroom homes are always popular with lots of different types of buyers. They’re great for families who need plenty of bedrooms to give everyone their own space. They fantastic for young professionals who love to entertain and have guests stay over but still need a separate space to work from home as well. They’re even becoming more and more popular with older couples looking to downsize from substantial period properties, but without sacrificing space for guests to stay and larger furniture that needs to be accommodated. In short, four-bedroom homes are in high demand and that’s why we’ve built not one, not even two, but three four bedroom homes at our Ellerwood development in Skipton: The Halton, The Barden and The Broughton.

What’s great about The Halton?

The Halton is arranged over three floors and the top floor is a fantastic master bedroom, ensuite and walk in wardrobe. You really do have to see this space to truly appreciate it, so we highly recommend booking a viewing, but here are some additional details…

That top floor is an impressive 18.7 feet wide (or 5.7 metres if you prefer metric) and that means you can easily fit a king-size bed in there no trouble. The space is made for luxury. The walk wardrobe offers plenty of private storage space, but there is still room for dresser drawers, freestanding clothes rails and any other storage you’d like to bring with you into this beautiful master suite. Sky lights flood this space with lots of natural light too, and the return staircase give a real sense of scale. As you can probably guess, this is our favourite space in this particular home.

With this entirely private bedroom space, we think The Halton is the ideal choice for families with slightly older children: you can give them the three bedrooms on the first floor, while you escape to a secluded adult retreat on the second floor, it’s just perfect.

What are the best bits about The Broughton?

When it comes to The Broughton, you still get that sensational second floor master bedroom space, but here you also get one amazing ground floor layout too. First of all, there’s an all-important downstairs bathroom – not only is this great for visitors as it saves them trailing upstairs, it’s also a god send when it comes to potty training the little ones.

In fact, in The Broughton you have a bathroom on every floor which is ideal! It’s not just about the downstairs toilet though, the real star of The Broughton floorplan is the 21 foot (or 6.4 metre) long open plan kitchen and dining space. It spans the entire width of the house and modern bi-fold doors open this room out into your private garden too. It really is the perfect space for big family dinners, summer barbecues and lots of lots of social events and parties. It’s a fantastic home for raising children, entertaining guests, and having lots of fun. And the best part is is, the separate living room means you can still shut the door on all the chaos and retreat to calm space when the fun is over too.

What do we love about The Barden?

Last but by no means least, we need to talk about The Barden. This four-bedroom home, unlike The Halton and The Broughton is arranged over just two floors. That means fewer stairs and less distance between everyone in the household, which might be exactly what you’re looking for if you have younger children or if you’re looking to repurpose some of those spare bedrooms into playrooms extra study spaces (because there’s already one downstairs) or hobby rooms – it means you can escape without feeling excluded from the rest of the house.

Like The Broughton, the Barden does deliver when it comes to an impressive ground floor footprint, once again you have an expansive open plan kitchen dining room, but you also have a separate living room, a downstairs bathroom, and a dedicated study space if you need it. What we love most about this home though, is the two sets of bi-fold doors, one in the living room and one in the kitchen diner that opens both rooms into your private garden, so no matter where you are in the home, you can always bring the outside in.

Like all the homes at our Ellerwood development in Skipton, they really do need to be seen to be fully appreciated, so book your viewing today and see if you can find the right four bedroom (or two, three or five bedroom home) for you and your family today. You won’t be disappointed.
