Why Horsforth is a great place to live

Listed as one of the most desirable postcodes in Yorkshire, Horsforth is a charming village located around five miles North West of Leeds city centre. Lets take a look at some of the reasons Horsforth is such a great place to live!

For the foodies

Whether you love quirky coffee shops or you like a pint at your local pub, Horsforth will have something for you. Along  the village high street, you’ll find a range of independent cafes and pubs, each with their own character and charm. One of our favourites is Woodlawn, a coffee shop with ‘instagrammable’ interior and great coffee!

For lovers of the great outdoors

If you’re a lover of the great outdoors, you’ll be pleased to know that Horsforth is surrounded by nature reserves, attractions, woodland and parks. Some of our favourite attractions are;

Kirkstall Abbey

Approximately 4 minutes away from our development Woodcroft, you can find Kirkstall Abbey. A picturesque spot, Kirkstall abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastery. But its not just the abbey that is mesmorising, you can make Kirkstall Abbey a day out by heading to the Abbey Park. Next to the abbey, there is 24 hectacres of land, perfect for a picnic on a sunny day!

Opposite the abbey is ‘Abbey House museum’, where you can walk around authentic Victorian streets for a glimpse of 19th century life in Leeds.

Horsforth Hall Park

Close to the centre of the village is Horsforth Hall Park. Just a 6 minute drive from our development Woodcroft, this park offers scenic walks, a cricket pitch, open parkland, Japanese garden, skate park and a playground.

Independent businesses

Here at Space Homes, we love supporting independent businesses and the local community. We believe it’s important to give back to the community the best we can, and offer support by choosing independent stores over chain stores. Horsforth offers plenty of choice when it comes to independent businesses; you can find everything from hairdressers, cafes and pubs.

Great for commuters

With a train station in the centre of town, you’re just a 13 minute train journey away from Leeds. There are also direct trains to York and Harrogate. So, whether you commute to the big city for work, or you like to spend your weekends shopping in the city, you can rest in the knowledge that you’re never far from the bustling city life.

So whether you’re a foodie, nature lover, shopaholic or a city-life lover, Horsforth has it all. It gives you the perfect mix of village life, but you’re not far from the vibrant city of Leeds, or a peaceful country walk in a park nearby.
