That's why we've noted the best coffee shops in Helmsley, to make your day out the best it can be!

After being closed for so long, it's independent businesses time to thrive! One of our favourite independent coffee shops in Helmsley is The Vinehouse Cafe, situated in Helmsley Walled Garden. Great walking and cycling routes

Are you a keen walker? You're in the right place. Helmsley is home to numerous scenic walking routes in and around the area. There are so many to choose from, but we all have our favourites. Here's ours...

Hambleton Hills

The Hambleton Hill are a range of fantastic hills that form the Western edge of the North York Moors. There are various walking routes on offer, but our favourite is known as The Hambleton Hills Circular walk. Rated moderate on the intensity scale, the Circular walk has far reaching panorama views across Yorkshire.

Sutton Bank

It goes without saying that the infamous Sutton Bank also has a vast range of excellent walking routes available. This most popular walk is a linear route along the escarpment, starting at Sutton Bank National Park Centre on a path around Roulston Scar to the White Horse of Kilburn. This route offers first class views over the Vale of Mowbray. But be careful, the cliff edge is steep, so make sure your dog is on a lead and you don't walk too close to the edge!

The Howardian Hills

A classic North York Moors trail, the Howardian Hills are an area of natural beauty, covering 79 square miles of pure countryside. Situated around 10 miles from Helmsley, it's a must-see if you're in the area.
