Competition with Whitley and Eggborough Community Primary School!

We encouraged young students from Eggborough and Whitley Community Primary School to put their design and creative skills to the test by designing their dream bedroom.

Twenty-four pupils aged 9 to 11 from the school’s Maple and Oak classes took part in the hope of winning a voucher for WH Smith. Entries included one featuring a unicorn theme and another with a doughnut bed that gives out sweet treats when you are hungry!

Take a look at the pictures in the gallery below from our fun day with Whitley and Eggborough Local Community School...

Our winner was Lucy Minter, congratulations!

Our runners up were Tegan Thorpe and Harrison Taylor.

Sarah Phenix, our Field Sales Manager at Space Homes, said the competition is a way of giving back to the community.

She added: “Setting the children a task and seeing their creative output was a treat for us and we look forward to working closely with the local community.”

The school, which has its woodland and pond area, is rated good by Ofsted and has more than 200 pupils.
Headteacher Sarah Langridge said: “The children have really enjoyed creating their designs. It was great fun for them to use their creativity and imagination. “We positively encourage any activities with outside agencies and the community.

“The children have a better understanding of their community when they take part in these sort of activities. It also makes them think creatively.”

Space Homes also donated £200 to the school, which will be used to buy books for the children.

Miss Langridge said: “We’ll use this to purchase books to help with their engagement of reading.
“We really appreciate the donation. It will go a long way here at the school.”

The school is close to our development The Willows in Eggborough. There are currently 11 properties for sale feauring 3 and 4 bedroom homes. Each home is available with Help to Buy.
